He walks out the door to school
The home is quiet aside from the chug of dishwasher
Light falls on my shins
I sit on the floor and smile
I smile upon noticing a new dove nest built into Wisteria Wall
Hope of Life
I smile upon thinking back to last night’s conversation
with a son about his hopes and fears
I smile because somehow, even while sad,
freedom has multiplied
I smile at attempts to repair, the relief of letting go
the delight in those who come near to stay.
I smile reading John 9
about how Jesus opens the gate
so people can
explore the
wide
open
pasture
roaming, playing, being nourished
A visual of the circle of security
Where we are invited
into His safe embrace.
